At the end of a lease tenants are usually required to return the leased premises to a state of repair defined by the lease. This responsibility is termed the "make good". Many tenants and landlords are unaware of their obligations and rights under the lease in relation to "making good" and this often leads to an unfortunate and sometimes acrimonious dispute at the end of a lease, which may have otherwise been characterised by an amicable relationship between the parties.
It is imperative that either party to a lease obtain advice as to what their "make good" obligations and rights are prior to the end of the lease. McGees are experienced in providing the advice, determining the cost of any responsibilities, negotiating in any dispute and project managing the completion of any required works.
